OOTD & Halloween extra

Thursday, October 31, 2013

Happy Halloween! I haven't done an OOTD all week so I figured why not today? And one of these days I'll get someone to start taking these photos for me so there's no more lame full-length mirror selfies, promise. One day.

Ugh it's such an awkward angle! Oh well. So lately the weather has been wishy washy (bleh. I want the cold back) and today was cool enough for long sleeves but warm enough for a skirt. I mean, I guess those days are kinda nice. I paired it with these little heels.. I like wearing heels with skirts and jeans because it adds a little something I think.

Shirt: Dots
Skirt: Target (of course)

And now for something extra for your Halloween entertainment. I've seen the GIFs from this video on tumblr for forever, so I finally decided to actually watch it. I was not disappointed.

xoxo, Kae

Sometimes change is good.

Monday, October 28, 2013

Hello my sweets! Happy Monday. Okay, I'm gonna get a teeny bit serious for a moment. Not necessarily Bridge to Terabithia serious (don't pretend like you never cried at that movie) but more like when-the-music-starts-playing-on-Full-House serious. If you followed last week's H54F, you know I've been plagued with a rather "big girl" decision recently. If you've never had the pleasure of having to make a big decision, I envy you so. It is not fun. And even though I try and let God have control, sometimes my own feelings get in the way and I stress myself out. So this past week has been stressful as I tried to figure out what was the best thing for me to do right now. And I feel at peace with my decision. I bet the suspense of what this huge, life- altering (okay, I'm a bit dramatic) decision is is killing you by now, huh? Drumroll.....................

When the semester is over, I'll be coming back home to Saginaw. (Texas. Not Michigan. Thank goodness.) I love college, I do. And I couldn't have asked to go to a better school. I have made some amazing friends that I will hopefully keep for many years. So why would I want to come home? I feel like at least for now, I need to focus on me. I have struggled with depression for awhile, (I don't want this to turn into a woe is me post, so I'll spare you the details) among other issues that have yet to get better. Before you ask...
Yes. I've tried therapy, and am currently in it. Those of you who have ever been to a therapist know what that's like. Bleh. As much as I'd like to point my fingers and make it all go away, I am not Sabrina the Teenage Witch. (Finding this out as a child was traumatizing) Getting your mental health in check takes time and effort, and I think anyone who has ever struggled knows that sometimes wanting to make the effort is extremely difficult. But I think that this is in my best interest right now. Does that mean I'll never go back to school? Not necessarily. As the photo up there says, God's timing is perfect. And right now, I feel like it's just not the right time for me to continue school. Instead, I need to focus on "me" and maybe things with my church, because that always makes me happy. Once I get back home, I plan on working at a child care center in the area (there's a lot) because I love kids and I want to make an impact on their lives. Leaving my school will be hard, but I have faith that I am making the right choice. After all, sometimes change is good, right?

Pretty Little Liars: Halloween edition.

So....................................... I forgot to mention PLL on my H54F. Oops? HOW could I forget, you ask? I have no idea. Please forgive me. At least it gives me an excuse to write an intense paragraph about it.
I didn't get to actually watch until Wednesday because for some unknown reason the cable in our apartment doesn't have abc family. I know. Such a travesty. Anyway, long story short, I saw twitter spoilers. I saw tumblr spoilers. But to me they weren't really spoilers... everyone was freaking out that Ali was alive. But I feel like people forgot about the mid-season finale... they "revealed" she was still alive then, which I called ages ago. Maybe it was intuition. So I wasn't super shocked or anything when Ali turned around and they had the "big reveal." The way they did it was cool though, because it was in the same spot from the night she disappeared.

I'm still feeling betrayed by this lil sneak. Like really?? I thought for sure Spencer was gonna be able to snatch his mask off and feel the betrayal for herself, but noope. Of course. And it seems Ezra is the one Ali is terrified of, but that just seems too obvious, right? So now I'm left wondering: Is there someone (or something) ELSE in Rosewood? Or does it all fall back on Ezra? Oh and where the heck has Alison been hiding all this time?? Sigh. I don't know how I'm going to make it three months until we find out.....

High Five For Friday

Hello lovelies. There's still five and a half hours of Friday left, so let's do this thing! Here are some of this week's highlights.

1. This week was my school's Homecoming Week, which is always fun. Last night the roomies and I went and got us some purple pancakes..

2. This week was also one of very "big girl", potentially huge decisions. I'll share more of that with you later. Let's just say some changes might be coming.

3.  The weather has been wishy- washy again. I don't like it, I don't like it one bit. I want the cold.

4. I think I'm officially done with Vampire Diaries. It's like they're trying to see how many different ways they can tell the same storyline. I find myself cringing every new episode, and it's just not fun anymore. So moral of the story is, beware this season. It sucks.

5. I'd just like to take this time to give a shoutout to coffee. Thank you coffee. So. Much.

OOTD: Orange

Happy happy Friday! Today's ootd is just a simple sweater and leggings. They're both from Forever21 (oh how I love that place) and the scarf is from rue21.

Manicure Monday: A little fall color

Monday, October 21, 2013

I've been feeling like I needed a few more darker, fall colors of nail polish, and I've been finding some pretty ones, mostly from Sinful Colors. SC is one of my favorite lines of polish, and their colors normally go on pretty well and don't chip super easily. (For the most part.) So recently I bought a color called Dark Bronze. It's kind of a greenish bronze and it's one of those shades that just screams fall.

I like how glossy it looks. I wanted a little "pop" so the glitter nail is Hot Wired, also from SC. For that one you need a couple of fairly thick coats in order for the whites of the nails to not show, but it doesn't look thick once on.

OOTD: rue21 sweater

Happy Monday my sweets! How was your weekend? Mine was filled with laziness, as usual. My roommates and I also made a visit to rue21 and well, let's just say I ended up with more than I needed.

One of my favorite purchases was this sweater. I'm so obsessed with sweaters and you can never have too many! I don't have too many beige things so I thought the color be a nice change up. The jeans came from Target and the scarf was a gift from my sister. And these boots... we've been through a lot. I don't even remember when I got them, but it's been awhile. And they're still truckin.

High Five For Friday

Friday, October 18, 2013

Hello my lovelies! It's Friday, which means it's time for my top (albeit sometimes boring) things from the past week. So.....................

1. It looks like Texas has finally realized it's fall, and I for one could not be more excited. As you've probably been able to tell from my ootd's, I've been taking full advantage of the cold.

2. Last night my roommates and I watched the series premiere of Reign (watching tv is one of our preferred methods of bonding time) and it's definitely my kind of show. I'm kind of a history nerd and I love anything that has to do with the royals. Oh and the guys on it aren't bad to look at, so that's always a plus.

3. Speaking of tv, I know I'm a lil late on this American Horror Story train, but it is awesome. I'm close to being done with Asylum and then I'll be all caught up. I love it. And Evan Peters.....

4. .....I feel like Evan Peters needs his own paragraph, because I have fallen so very deeply in love with that gorgeous boy. Please marry me?

5. My roommates and I made our weekly Walmart run the other day, and somehow we ended up in cosmetics. That always seems to happen with us and well, basically I ended up with two new nail polishes and a tube of lipstick.... that I did not need. Oops?

Well that's all for now. Have a lovely weekend! xx, Kae.

Woman Crush Wednesday: Lea Michele

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

It's Hump Day! Which in social media world, also means Woman Crush Wednesday. Today I thought I would dedicate my crush to one miss Lea Michele, who in my opinion has some of the most courage, poise, and strength.

I used to watch Glee religiously, until the fourth season when I kind of just gave up because they had graduated and I just didn't feel attached to it like before. But that didn't stop me from adoring Lea and Cory as well, and his death affected me like I think it affected everyone. I first thought about Lea and how her heart must have just been absolutely shattered. When she gave that speech at the Teen Choice Awards I bawled like a five year old. I just kept thinking "She is so strong." Sometimes I think about her and how she's been able to handle everything and it just gives me hope. Okay now enough with the heavy... she's also insanely pretty and has the voice of angels. She's lovely, that Lea.

xx, Kae.

OOTD: I heart sweaters

Tuesday, October 15, 2013

Happy Tuesday/ Supernatural day! It was another rainy day here in the 'Ville, which of course was the perfect time to break out this New York & Company sweater.

Even though it's New York & Co., it came from this magical lil place called Clothes Mentor. (Seriously. If you've never been there, you should go.) It was less than $20, which is always a yay thing. I also thought I'd break out these new jeans from Target. I love them because they're higher waist than I usually find, and I'm all about the high waist look. And then of course the boots... if you didn't notice before, they're the same ones from yesterday. Gotta break 'em in, right? ;)

xx, Kae.

OOTD & Catch Up....

Monday, October 14, 2013

Happy Monday! Well, if Mondays can be happy. When I first made this blog I wanted to update regularly. Obviously, that has not happened. Ugh please forgive me.. college is CRAZY busy. Like, crazy. I want to try and get this thing running again, so bear with me please? Today I wanted to share an ootd as it is FINALLY cooling down here in Texas, and  today was classic rainy fall day in the 'Ville.

Both my shirt and the leggings came from Target. (AKA the best place ever.. still sad about the fact that there's not one in Stephenville) I wanted something comfy yet semi cute, and leggings/scarf/boot combo is usually my fall go to. Speaking of scarf and boots, the scarf came from my lovely sister.

And then the boots... or booties, whichever you prefer.

That was the best shot I could get, and it doesn't do justice to them at all. I got them this weekend as this place called the Shoe Dept. and I'm in love! Sometimes it's hard to find certain shoes because I am forever stuck in shopping in the kids' section. (I'm a size one. Yeah.) So I get really excited when I find shoes that I just can't say no to. And a girl can never have too many boots, right?

xx, Kae.
