Introducing Stevie Mae

If you follow me on instagram, I'm sure you've seen the creature that's taken over a lot of my photos recently. Despite the ears, it is indeed not a deer.

My sweet childhood dog passed away last year, and I had been wanting to adopt one of my own for awhile. Since I'm living at home right now, I wanted to make sure my parents and I all had a connection with whatever dog I ended up adopting. When I walked up to this one's kennel, I knew something was different. We took her out and played with her for a bit, and she sat in my lap and gave me kisses. And that was it.

She is named after Stevie Nicks, and her middle name comes from my childhood dog, whose name was Daisy, and we called her Daisy Mae sometimes. The shelter said she's a Chihuahua mix, and the vet confirmed my suspicions of having some Jack Russell in her, which explains her hunting tendencies. She will go after any bug that is outside when she is, although grasshoppers are the bug of choice. Bless their hearts.

The vet told us she's around eight months old and she definitely has that puppy spunk. She's quite hyper at times, but she's also pretty content spending lazy time with me and my shows. Being stubborn is a specialty of hers, however. They do say dogs can be like their human....
She enjoys giving kisses and trying to convince us that yes, she does need whatever people food is being eaten. She also enjoys napping a lot, because being a dog can be exhausting.

She fit right in pretty much immediately and I'm so glad. She's a character, this one.

The bucket list

Autumn is the perfect time to try new things, which is why I thought it'd be fun to make a bucket list of all the things I want to do this fall. I probably won't accomplish them all, but it's still nice to have to look back on.

So what's on my fall bucket list?

+ Do a fall photoshoot with my {new!} dog
+ Go to a pumpkin patch
+ Ride a hayride
+ Make my own pumpkin spice latte
+ Carve a pumpkin

What would you put on your bucket list?

Fall cravings

Fall cravings

I'm already craving all the fall things, including clothes.
Sweaters, leggings, and lots and lots of scarves. Oh, and a pea coat. I like a good pea coat.

What's on your must-have list?

Fall Welcome Week + favorite things

It's finally here. My favorite season. The weather's getting cooler, {Well, Texas is a little behind} the leaves are falling... and I'm in love. I'm always in love when it comes to fall.

I used to not be the biggest fan of fall, but there's something about it that I can't quite explain. Maybe it's the fact that it means Christmas is closer, or that the sun is no longer burning a hole in my skin. {Not literally, but almost.} Whatever the reason, I'm so ready when mid-September rolls around.

Here are a few of my favorite things about fall.....
+ The weather
+ All pumpkin everything
+ FOOTBALL SEASON
+ The clothes. And scarves. And boots.
+ Season premieres
+ Thanksgiving

Speaking of this lovely season, this week I'm helping host the Fall Welcome Week linkup with Jenna from A Savory Feast and some other wonderful ladies! The blog is totally fall themed this week, so get ready. Also, you should check out what these girls have in store! Fall shenanigans are sure to ensue.

Mid-week inspiration

Your passions and your heart are the most beautiful parts of you. The way you explore your passions, the way you love with all your heart. Those are the parts of you that matter the most. Focus on that. Focus on living your life in beautiful ways. It makes all the difference.

The Pretty Little Liars yoga game

I'm still a liiitle in shock from the PLL mid-season finale, {Who cares if it was like a month ago? We need time to process} and we don't get answers until December. So what's a girl in the middle of waiting for the end of this horrible hiatus to do? Why, make up a game of course.

I'm sure you've heard of those tv show workout games. They're like drinking games, only instead of just working out your liver, they work out your whole body. My only form of working out, however, is yoga, so that's why I'm bringing you the Pretty Little Liars Yoga Game!

First things first. If you're new to this whole yoga thing, don't worry. Here's where you can find the lowdown. Watch some videos. Learn some lingo. I'll wait.

Ready? Gear up Netflix and get your namaste face on. *Hold each pose for 3-5 breaths.

Every time:

+ Emily looks annoyed.... Dancer pose
+ The police are suspicious of the girls... Downward dog
+ Hanna cutely says something dumb.... Bridge pose
+ The girls get a message from A.... Plank pose
+ Aria mentions Ezra.... Warrior II

+ Mona {RIP} says something creepy and or cryptic.... Bow pose
+ Someone accuses someone of being A.... Low lunge
+ Spencer is studying.... Pigeon
+ There's a flashback.... Upward dog
+ Someone cries.... Chair pose

P.S. I'm so sorry I did this to you.

Sweater weather

Y'all. I have very exciting news to report. It felt like fall in Texas! Of course, it was only for like two days and now we're back to temperatures that aren't exactly sweater appropriate. But over the weekend I got to break out my long sleeves and take in that breeze that means fall is soon arriving.

Sweater weather, hurry back please.

Sweater | Target
Shorts | Papaya
Wedges | American Eagle
Watch | Folio
Cross necklace | Unknown
Chain necklace | DIY'd

How to stay inspired

I believe that life is all about being inspired. If you're not inspired with what you're doing, then what's the point? That being said, sometimes it's hard to stay in that mindset. Luckily, inspiration is everywhere if you just look for it. Here's some easy ways that I stay motivated + inspired...

+ Pinterest. Hands down my most successful source of inspiration. Whether it's fashion, fresh ideas for the blog, or just looking at pretty things, it's all there. I've always been more of a visual person and I think that's why pinterest and mood boards and things of that sort work so well for me.

+ Listening to music. I just work better with music. It helps me think and certain artists and songs seem to really spark creativity. Lorde is definitely one... I put her on the record player and bam.

+ Looking through magazines. More visual things. It's amazing how much headlines or photos can spark ideas.

+ Writing. Sometimes just writing is one of the best things I can do for my creativity. I just write until I can't anymore and usually some magic will happen.

What do you do for inspiration?
