How To Stay Motivated To Work Out

Unrealistic thought I continue to have no matter how much I’m proved wrong: once you get a workout routine going, you’ll always be ready to go first thing in the morning/ evening/ whenever your preferred time is. You’ll be up & at ‘em, much like Monica when she was trying to get Chandler to run with her.

But some days you’re gonna be Chandler, ready to quit and go back to bed. It’s proven that exercise releases endorphins (thanks, Elle Woods) and each time I work out I feel 1000x times better than before I started. I’m on a high! Until next time, that is.

Here’s what I do on the hard days:

Lay Workout Clothes Out
I learned this trick from Kalyn and it’s a game changer

If I’m planning on working out in the morning, I’ll hang my clothes up on my closet door, that way they’re there, staring at me, the moment I wake up. The longer they sit there, the guiltier I start to feel and I’m forced to suck it up.

Queue Up A Favorite Playlist
My workout playlist is filled with songs that make me wanna have my own soulcycle class. It’s impossible to ~not~ wanna work out when you listen to these songs.

Have your own favorite playlist & queue it up: throwback jams, Kesha, the Rocky theme.... whatever floats your boat.

Have An Incentive
Apparently the reward system doesn’t stop working once ya hit puberty.

I reward myself ALL THE TIME with Netflix. If I work out, if I work on xx for an hour, etc etc, I can crawl in bed and binge all the riverdale I want. BOOM.

How do you motivate yourself to get the endorphins goin?

xo,
kae
