WHAT I'VE LEARNED FROM GOING MAKEUP FREE

Going Makeup Free

A few months ago, I made a commitment to give my face a break & go makeup free at least once a week. Of course, this is not including the brows, because the brows must always be done.

I digress.

Three years ago, maybe even two, I would've cringed at the idea. I used makeup as a shield for longer than I'd like to admit, not daring to go bare faced even to the grocery store. But with age my confidence has grown, as well as my impatience for putting on my makeup in the mornings, & I find myself going minimal makeup or completely bare faced more than the allotted once a week.

Of course, with this newfound not giving an f comes some realizations:

1// People will think you're a literal child because you're short with a baby face that doesn't even have mascara

2// You start to not care about your dark circles as much.

3// People will say you look tired.

4// You start to appreciate a good lipstick even more than before. (hey, no harm in adding a little color)

5// You realize just how much effort actually ~putting on~ makeup takes

6// You develop an appreciation for those that rock full faces, every day

7// You find out that nothing really changes, but you sure do love sleeping an extra bit.
